Olathe Bass Club Supports Local Boy Scout Fundraiser

Posted by

The Olathe Bass Club (OBC) is always looking to support youth in our community in any way possible. So when Olathe Boy Scout Troop 225 held its annual Chili Supper/Silent Auction on Saturday, February 18th the OBC jumped at the opportunity to support these young men. This fun-filled evening serves as the troop’s major fundraiser for the year. For the 4th straight year the OBC was a major contributor to the event. First off, the OBC members collected $85 at their February meeting and used it to donate 2 different gift cards towards the auction. Secondly, 7 of its members and many of their family members, purchased chili supper tickets for dinner that evening. All ingredients are donated to the troop and they make the chili themselves, so the whole night is one big profit. Lastly, most of the OBC members in attendance took part in the Silent Auction. Troop 225 made an estimated $15,500 that evening, with the OBC contributing nearly $600 of that total.
