“A couple of weekends ago Olathe Bass Club members volunteered at the Olathe Kids Annual Fishing Derby.  The Olathe Bass Club is an Organizing Sponsor of the Olathe Kids Annual Fishing Derby which takes place each June at Cedar Lake in southwest Olathe, Kan. It provides an opportunity for parents and grandparents to spend quality time with their children and grandchildren fishing. Free goodie bags that include hooks, bobbers and shirts are provided while they last to participants. There also is a free hotdog lunch for the entire family.  Typically 500-800 kids participate in the fishing derby and last year, almost 1,200 hotdog meals were served!

The Kids Annual Fishing Derby is put on by the Olathe Kids Annual Fishing Derby, Inc., in cooperation with the Olathe Parks and Recreation Department along with a host of volunteers, community organizations, and business sponsors.”
